Walking

There are a number of walks in and around Alyth that take you past points of interest or uphill to our local viewpoint. Perthshire Tourist Board publishes a series of free leaflets with details of these and other walks.

" Auld Alyth" takes you past some of the town's prominent and historical points. The Market Square, 15th century Pack Bridge and the "Auld Arches" - the site of a thirteenth century church. The Den o' Alyth - a Site of Special Scientific Interest - was used as a hunting ground by Robert the Bruce!

Alyth Hill runs to 966 ft. above sea level. From the summit, you will experience spectacular views to Fife, Perth's Kinnoull Hill, across Perthshire to Ben Lawers and Schiehallion. The Grampians can be seen to the north and, in the foreground, look past Alyth town to the golf courses at Glenisla, Alyth and Strathmore.
