Although Alyth's winters are mild, we are close to the Highlands of Scotland and, in particular, Glenshee. Within half an hour of leaving the Lands of Loyal, you will be in the heart of the largest ski area in Britain!

Skiing is mostly centred on the Cairnwell Pass. At 2199 ft., this carries the highest main road in the country. Downhill skiing, Telemark skiing and snowboarding are all well catered for at Glenshee. The slopes are suitable for all grades - ample nursery slopes for beginners, right up to the "Tiger" for those with a sense of adventure!
