Tayside is known as the region of rivers because it contains many magnificent examples, both large and small, tranquil and tumultuous and most of them with abundant stocks of fish. The River Tay dominates the Perthshire countryside and is one of the principle salmon fishing systems in Europe. Over its 119 mile course it is fed by rivers such as the Ericht, Isla, Garry, Tilt, Tummel, Lyon, Earn and Almond. The area is renowned for salmon and trout fishing, which are widely available and generally affordable. We would happy to arrange a package to suit
your requirements. The statutory season for brown trout is from 15 March to 6 October inclusive, but some fisheries restrict the season within this period. Rainbow trout have no statutory close season and several still-water fisheries are open all year round. There is no statutory close season for grayling or coarse fish in Scotland otherwise they have similar legal status to brown trout.
